The Winter is upon us again and brings time for rest and retrospection. This is not a time to create new work for yourself or do all the inside projects. It is the time to look back at all that you have experienced in the past seasons and try to understand what it has been teaching you. For if you do not understand the lessons of the past then you will likely repeat them until you do.
The native people would use this time to tell stories and teach what has been learned the previous years. Our society many times does not take into consideration making time for rest and time to recover from the spring, summer and fall activities. Thus we find it hard to keep up the momentum as we plant new seeds in the spring and it becomes more difficult to find energy to devote to the growth of those seeds.
So learn from the past and plan for the future during the winter. But above all REST!
Use your knowledge and experiences to enable yourself and others to be more joyful and prosperous in everyday life and don't forget that "Wisdom is the loving application of knowledge".
